WWTP Soerendonk

Project: WWTP Soerendonk
Industry: Water treatment
Location: Soerendonk

Client: Water Board de Dommel
Installer: Hoppenbrouwers & Aan de Stegge Mechanical Engineering & Clock Construction

A water harmonica has been realized next to the new sewage treatment plant in Soerendonk. Together, the water park can be seen as a nature reserve, where the water to be drained goes through a sand filter to return to nature at a desired ecological level. The cable transits from MCT Brattberg protect the cables against water and weather influences.

WWTP Soerendonk was originally from the year 1968, but after depreciation it was completely replaced in 2011. The new installation was built on the vacant site next to the old WWTP. A water harmonica was placed on the site of the old installation. The project was commissioned by Waterschap de Dommel and was carried out by electrical installer Hoppenbrouwers and electrical installers Aan de Stegge Werktuigbouw and Klok Bouw.

Purifying wastewater with a sand filter was relatively new for a WWTP. All phosphates and other suspended substances are filtered from the already purified water. This results in water of an ecologically responsible level.

A large number of MCT Brattberg windows and filling material have been used in this large treatment plant, for reliable sealing of cables and protection against water and weather influences.
