According to EU regulations and IECEx standards, the ATEX directive must be applied in all working environments where explosive materials are present. This applies to areas involving fuel production and storage, the application of chemicals or the use of hazardous substances. MCT Brattberg has developed and tested an Ex-approved range of cable and pipe transits to protect adjacent sites in such areas.
For situations where MCT Brattberg penetrations must be placed in an explosive environment, MCT Brattberg has developed a special line of IEC-Ex and ATEX certified frames and filling materials. All rubber filling materials for the Ex penetrations have a special green marking. All Ex certified products from MCT Brattberg are suitable for both Zone 1 and Zone 2.
If desired, all ATEX certified Ex penetrations from MCT Brattberg are also available in an EMC-resistant version.
MCT Brattberg Ex cable glands comply with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EC and the applicable IECEx requirements. In addition, the MCT Brattberg Ex cable penetrations are approved by DNV-GL. In addition, the manufacturer complies with the quality and environmental standard requirements of ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
Successful Ex tests have been carried out on the entire RGB and RGS product line at Baseefa’s renowned test laboratory. The following Ex notation applies to this product line:
Group II Category 2GD Ex ebIIC Gb Ex tb IIIC Db Service Temperature (-60ºC to +70ºC).
In order to get a transit certified, the complete transit including filling must be ordered in one order. Only in this way can it be ensured that the transit to be installed actually meets the ATEX certification requirements.
